Rating = a generous 2.0 part#2: sounds a bit metallic. Small details are missing. 4.0 part#3: strong artefacts are still audible. 2.0 at best... => 12/5 = 2.4 --------------------------------------- 2R File: sample1\sample1_6.wav 2R Rating: 4.6 2R Comment: part#1: not as crisp as the reference, but confusing on first listening. Rating = 4.5 (more than good). part#2: transparent (5.0) part#3: slighty unsharp (4.5) => 23/5 = 4.6 --------------------------------------- 3L File: sample1\sample1_7.wav 3L Rating: 1.5 3L Comment: part#1: no comment. Attacks aren't smeared: they've partially disappeared. Bad (1/5) part#2: a bit muffled (3.5) part#2: muffled; but not as unsharp as part#1. Rating = 1.5 => 9.5/5 = 1.9 I nevertheless lowered this rating, because this encoding is too poor compared to the second worst file (which get 2.1). 1.5 is more reasonnable. --------------------------------------- 4R File: sample1\sample1_4.wav 4R Rating: 2.1 4R Comment: part#1: very unsharp and noisy, even more artefacted than 1R. Rating = 1.5 part#2: much more metallic than 1R. Details are really absent from this one. I dislike it but it's not awful, far from it (3.0) part#3: not poorer than 1R, but rather less wounded. 2.3 => 10.6/6 = 2.12 --------------------------------------- 5R File: sample1\sample1_3.wav 5R Rating: 2.4 5R Comment: part#1: completely smeared, but it sounds to my ears are less bad than the other two similar files alreaded ranked. It's more constant noise than artefact. One one sense this encoding is poorer but modesty sometimes paid. Rating = 2.5 part#2: strange phase effect. Stereo imaging is confusing. (3.0) Smallest details are nevertheless more present. Final rating for part#2 = 4.0 part#3: Ouch! that's bad! (1.5) => 12/5 = 2.4 --------------------------------------- 6L File: sample1\sample1_2.wav 6L Rating: 2.2 6L Comment: part#1: different from the three other similar files on this short and critical range. Distortions have mutate again, and this one could pretend to the golden medail of the worst sound (low anchor is out of competition). Rating = 1.5 part#2: good. Some details are missing and it's slightly metallic. Like 1R (4.0) part#3: similar to 1R. There's no point to give a different rating (2.0) => 11/5 = 2.2 --------------------------------------- 7R File: sample1\sample1_5.wav 7R Rating: 2.4 7R Comment: part#1: very close to 5R. It's clearly unsharp and short impulse are constantly covered by noise; but at least this noise is eaqually distributed and it sounds less aggressive. Rating = 2.5 part#2: again, very close to 5R (same stereo issue, same good performance on smallest details). 4.0 part#3: as disappointing as 5R again on this part.
